Twelve cars signed in for the third and last NASA Drag Night of 2009. Wayne Axford bested the field and took the win against Ken Porter in the final round.

NASA Team Claims Class Victory in International Event

NASA VW Drag Racing Team Claims Class Victory at 24-hour Beetle Ball Rally.

The NASA Drag Racing Team took victory in class 7 for Vintage VW Bus at the 24-hours of the Beetle Ball Rally. Americans Greg Urrutia and co-driver Tom Simon finished in a remarkable fourth overall position with their unlikely racing vehicle, a 1964 Volkswagen Kombi. The rally begins in Vancouver, British Columbia covering 1500 miles through three countries.
Even with a last minute decision to enter the event, the NASA (National Auto Sport Association) team fulfilled their commitment finishing a mere two seconds behind the third place unlimited vehicle. At the finish line in Ensenada, Mexico the duo announced its continued participation and is confirmed to run the complete Rally Series in 2010.
